Hiking along the trails of the Oberg Mountain always reminds me of the scenery from the elf forest in Lord of the Rings. There is something magical and beautiful about the filtered light as it passes through the tree branches. It is one of my favorite spots along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

This painting is all about the joy I feel when looking at colors. I love brush strokes and dashes of color in a painting. Those marks can convey a sense of light and atmosphere that no flat stroke of color ever could!
