Tea Party

In an effort to push for some new ideas for still life, I decided to try an unusual perspective for this piece, and an unusual format.
I set up this still life on my large studio table, and stood so I was looking down at the grouping. I love being able to see in side of the teacup, and seeing more of the pattern on the saucer.
Next, I selected a 6×12″ panel. This is one of my handmade panels. It proved to be a great shape to work on, giving some very interesting patterns between the objects.
Love this cup and saucer! Great angle; lovely colors in the reflections. I’m a sucker for what looks to me like a folk-art painted plate.
