Sunflower Bouquet, Cloudy Day | Floral painting en plein air painting

I am unapologetically a fan of sunflowers. By far my favorite flower, they have so much personality and impact —  I just love them!

One of the benefits of painting on a bright, overcast day is the quality of the light.  There is a softness to everything, but the colors are very saturated — even more so than you might see on a sunny day. Additionally, get a longer window to paint. When the sky is cloudy, the angle of the light doesn’t change nearly as quickly as it would on a sunny day.
