Watercolor Self Portrait
I created this self-portrait using watercolor and gouache after reading a chapter in Breaking the Rules of Watercolor by artist Burton Silverman. In it, he talked about working with watercolor on bristol paper. He made such a convincing argument for trying bristol paper because of the ability to lift color off from the surface. I had to give it a try. My experience wasn’t quite the same as Burton’s, but it was still a lovely experience to work with a super smooth paper.
