Hiking during the early days of fall has to be one of the best things out there! Leaves have just started to turn colors but sunny days are usually warm enough to hit the trails with just a flannel shirt and maybe a hat. That was the case with this little painting.
This original painting was done on location, with casein paint on an Ampersand panel after hiking around Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park. The day had been warm and sunny. A pink hue filled the sky as the clouds rolled in for the evening.
