A couple weeks ago, I stumbled across a website with an ingenious concept.  They offer one painting for sale everyday.  That’s it. Not interested in today’s painting? Check back tomorrow to see what’s being featured. I thought the idea was so interesteing, I applied to have my work featured.  My “Green Tea Kettle” painting will [...]

I had a great time in the studio working on this little painting.  I do love painting glass.  Working on this balsamic vinegar bottle has kept that love of glass alive!   The vinegar in the bottle had some wonderful colors when seen under the north light coming in my studio windows.

I really wanted to try out a yellow background.  I not sure why. That was my over riding thought as I was heading to the studio this morning.  I have had a couple of ideas for larger still life paintings recently using yellow, black, and white.  Upon arriving at the studio, I opened up the cabinet that holds [...]

This time, I placed it against a light background.  It is interesting to note how refreshing it feels to paint the same subject against two very different background.  I also pulled my easel way back for this little painting.  I’m [...]

Please click here to bid on this painting I was amazed by the amount of fragrance that one lone lilly produced in my studio today.  The cold snap here in Minnesota has finally lifted. Today was seemed almost tropical at 20 degrees  after living below zero for the last couple of days.

Please click here to bid on this painting It truly is a wonderful time to be alive when I can be painting fresh tulips in my Minneapolis, Minnesota studio during the coldest stretch of weather that we have had in 5 years.  Today, the high temperature is expected to stay below zero.  The blue and [...]
